First, it will develop a community of learners by deepening our existing relationships with other departments and schools at UMKC while expanding our relationships with prominent applied ethicists around the country. Second, with an emphasis in ethics and the life and health sciences, The Center will support UMKC’s mission to become a leader in this area. Finally, The Center will become an essential community partner and resource by offering workshops, consulting, additional certification, and other educational opportunities to Kansas City medical, environmental, governmental and business professionals.
