CRISP brings together the region’s most important expertise in bioimaging and biomaterials. The center expands UMKC’s capacity for biomedical research, and it increased UMKC’s role in the Kansas City Life Sciences Institute. Faculty members who are currently engaged in this work have active grants totaling nearly $10 million, and they developed CRISP to respond more effectively to promising new initiatives of the National Institutes for Health and the National Science Foundation.
