The Institute supports several programs addressing the needs of at risk populations and houses several initiatives including a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, Alianzas (promoting partnerships between the University and Latino communitities), The Missouri Developmental Disabilitites Resource Center, the Interdisciplinary Training Center on Gerontology and Developmental Disabilitities, Urban Mission, and a one-stop Resource Center for Latino Families of children with Disabilitites. The Institute also provides technical assistance and training services to federal, state, and local human service agencies in the form of needs assessment, grant writing, and program development and evaluation.
