The UMKC Center for Creative Studies calls for applications by May 1 for Curriculum Development for Interdisciplinary Courses Studying the Creative Process.
Academic programs are invited to submit proposals for developing new interdisciplinary curricula that study the creative process.
The purpose of this funding program is to generate new ideas among faculty and students and to produce new experiential interdisciplinary courses across all academic units. The intended outcome of this program is to challenge students to explore new ways of learning and to better understand their own creative potential, and the nature of creativity/innovation as it applies to different academic areas. A desired outcome is that these courses will become permanent offerings within the college/schools in which they are offered.
The Center for Creative Studies anticipates awarding three to five funding awards available July 1, providing it receives a sufficient number of deserving applications. Funding available for curriculum development is $5,000 - $7,500 per course. Course offerings should come to fruition within 12 to 18 months following the funding award.
Deadline for application is 5 p.m. May 1.
Application eligibility and instructions are available on the center's Web site at: http://www.umkc.edu/creativestudies/facilitate.htm
